Not easy to cope with all nightmares that a seven year old boy who escaped brutal attacks on his village just woke up at 2am by memories of flash backs of all things he went through. When he escaped his village Dominic walked many miles to Ethiopia to save his life in 1990s
In 2006, Dominic Diing, dreamt that someone appeared to him while sleeping on the campus of Niagara University and asked woke him up and turn the TV in his room. He woke up and turned on the TV immediately and right on screen of the TV, he saw Feed the Child documentary about suffering and dying people of Sudan and other countries in Africa. Tears would come down his face and felt terrible as all that reminded him what he went through in Africa. Seeing children in the documentary was symbolic membrance of the death of his brothers and friends who died of hunger, dehydration, and animals while they were walking to search peace and security." Oh, God !" "My people are dying like this again!" What can I do God to help them?" He said. That aspiration is became message from God and his vision to help save those vulnerable lives.
Through his dream, Aid and Care was born out of this called and his usually question "if I graduate from college what will I do to help my people with this education?". The combination both aspirations strengthened his dedication to foundation of AID and CARE, Inc. Not only that, Dominic being one of the refugees called the Lost Boys of Sudan envisions to establish foundation of the lost boys' legacy. The part of founding vision of Aid and Care Inc is dedicated to the legacy of Lost Boys of Sudan, a group of young orphaned refugees forced from their villages by civil war, force of being hunting down for enslave, resisting lead to end of their lives, had to trek more than thousands of miles through African most dangerous forests, rivers, and semi-arid areas to safe their lives. While they were walking to search for place to live, food to survive, security, and protections, thousands died along the way as the results of drowned, eaten by wild animals, shot by military forces or overcame by hunger, dehydration or fatigue
The organization was founded through the vision and action of Dominic Diing' giving back to his community through that dream and his life story.
Follow His Believe
While the boy escaped his village in 1987 when he was 7 years old and walked to Ethiopia for more than thousand miles. His believe, following his horrible life experience that lack of human basic needs, such as food, medicines, water and shelter means the dead end of a human's live . He feels that it is good enough for him to stand up and speak on behalf of invisible people; unheard voices, and forgotten God's children in Africa primary in Sudan. Joined by other lost boys and his American friends includeing his professors, they work tirelessly to raise awareness and fund to help provide unmet needs to desperate groups such as abandoned children, orphans , women, vulnerable people and war affected communities primarily in Sudan and beyond. Dominic envisioned that the futures for abandoned children, orphans and all people who are affected by wars, diseases, hunger, and natural disasters very vulnerable, it without assistance, they would like the children and women he saw on the Feed the Children by Larry and Frances Jones.
God Saved My Life, So Me Needed to Save Others
Of his faith in God will never go unappreciated. Dominic believes that the vision Aid and Care's foundation is "Call to Save Lives" according to God's law in the Bible: Feed hungry and help those in troubles(Isaiah 58:10). A part of his inspirations to run Aid and Care is found in the Book of Matthew 25:36-40. Please read more.
